Making Room

Kenny used to kick me out of my own room
To play his guitar.
Go play with Don, he'd say
While he sat in my room for hours
Plucking away.

Don never wanted to play. He just watched TV in his room.

My parents stayed in the kitchen.

Don had his room.
My parents had theirs.
Kenny had mine.

I had no room to make my own. Then.

Now that I'm older
I can make a
Room for myself.
